The strange thing about fainting is that it does not warn you. One morning before school I was getting ready, and then I was on the floor trying to figure out what just happened. The most annoying part at the time was missing a test. It felt random.
Afterward I could not stop thinking about how much the rooms we live in affect our health. Indoor air pollution is tied to millions of premature deaths every year, and it is worse in lower-income housing: poor ventilation, materials that off-gas, solutions that cost more than the people most affected can pay.
That is how AeraDomus started. It is a housing design framework for indoor air quality that uses passive, low-cost architecture instead of expensive filters: airflow patterns, solar-powered ventilation chimneys, materials that hold fewer toxins. I built a small model and watched smoke move through different paths. Healthy air vs. unhealthy air was a design decision, not a gadget.
A lot of problems we file under health are also design problems. I want to build systems people barely notice, because when they work, they just quietly shape how you feel every day.
